Read on for a step-by-step guide on how to customize your new sofa. And, the best part is there is no assembly required—#adulting!

How do you buy a custom sofa?

1. Select your frame. Customizable sofas are available in over 10 frames, including sectionals, loveseats and ottomans. If you want to spring for a leather sofa, there are 4 frames available.

2. Choose a color. There are over 300 colors and fabrics available. If you want a leather sofa, we have 12 leathers colors to choose from. Are you feeling a bit overwhelmed? Relax, we recommend going with a neutral hue like gray, tan or navy for your sofa. If you have kids or pets, you might want to immediately rule out lighter colors that will get dirty quickly. If you want to add pops of color, we suggest doing so with smaller pieces like chairs and ottomans that can be easily switched out.

3. Request a swatch. Once you nail down your palette, you can request swatches of your favorite colors. Just e-mail this address customizeitswatches@macys.com. Remember to include your name, address and the name of the swatch.
